Posting requirements for Ontario employers
Effective April 11, 2008, employers in Ontario were required to post the updated "What you should know about the Employment Standards Act" poster.  The poster has been amended to reflect the changes to the Employment Standards Act regarding family medical leave, family day, minimum wage entitlements, reservist leave and emergency leave.  Posters can be downloaded for free from the Ministry of Labour's website at: www.labour.gov.on.ca/english/es/poster.html.

The poster can also be ordered through ServiceOntario Publications.  If downloaded from the web, the poster must be printed on legal size paper.  Employers are required to post the document in English and in the language spoken by the majority of the employees in the workplace.

Failure to post the new version of this poster constitutes a failure to comply with the Employment Standards Act and enforcement measures can include issuing notices of contravention with monetary penalties.
