The 2007 Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory cites four of our Calgary lawyers as leading practitioners in oil and gas matters, including two who are also listed in the 2007 Lexpert/American Lawyer Media's Guide to the Leading 500 Lawyers in Canada. Our Toronto office has extensive experience in Ontario-based natural gas regulatory matters, including issues relating to deregulation, utility service unbundling, gas service contracts and utility rates. The Toronto Group also advises clients on natural gas procurement contracts and marketing joint venture matters. The Oil and Gas Group works closely with both our Corporate and Competition Groups in representing participants in all aspects of M&A transactions involving energy companies. Our oil and gas practice also has a significant international dimension, advising on foreign investment in the Canadian energy sector, cross-border trade in energy resources and participation in international energy projects. In corporate finance, the firm finished first in Financial Post Q1 2007 rankings by volume of offerings by issuers in the Energy sector.
