Toronto litigation team successful in obtaining injunction

Toronto lawyers Adrian Lang, Simon Bieber and Erica Tait successfully represented Essar Steel Algoma Inc. in an injunction hearing in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice in Sault Ste. Marie. The Sault steel maker and Cleveland Cliffs entered into an exclusive 15-year supply agreement in 2002 calling for a minimum 2.5 million tonnes of iron-ore annually at market prices. The two parties are disputing pricing and supply. Toronto lawyers were successful in obtaining an injunction securing a non-interruption of iron-ore shipments by the respondent. An arbitration hearing is currently being held to resolve the pricing issue.
