Stikeman Elliott remembers John Lundell, Q.C.
Our colleague and friend, John Lundell, Q.C., passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2010.
John was called to the British Columbia Bar in 1965. He practised with Lawson Lundell LLP, the firm co-founded by his father, for over 40 years. John joined Stikeman Elliott LLP on February 1, 2006. John maintained an astoundingly complete and in-depth understanding of corporate law in British Columbia. Since 1989, John was the Chairman of the Legal Advisory Committee advising the British Columbia Ministry of Finance on the British Columbia Business Corporations Act. John was routinely consulted by many professionals regarding the nuances of our corporate legislation.
John endeared himself to all with his sharp intellect, his humble manner and his gentle professional style. He was an exceptional resource and mentor to many lawyers during his many years at the Bar. John was a gentleman of the first order, and he will be missed very much by all who had the privilege of knowing him and working with him.
We extend our condolences to John's wife, Marie and to their family.
