Stikeman Elliott appoints William Braithwaite as new Chair of firm
Stikeman Elliott LLP is pleased to announce the election of Mr. William Braithwaite as Chair of the firm. Mr. Braithwaite is also a member of the Partnership Board and Executive Committee and a senior partner in the Toronto office.

Mr. Braithwaite is one of Canada's leading mergers and acquisitions lawyers and a recipient of numerous important professional recognitions, most recently being named in the top category for the 2012 Chambers Global's The Guide to the Leading Lawyers for Business for individuals in Corporate/M&A. In addition to acting on some of the most significant cross border merger transactions, he has acted as counsel to major Canadian corporations, boards of directors, and institutional shareholders, as well as various governments and regulatory authorities. Mr. Braithwaite will continue his transactional practice as a valued advisor to his clients through ongoing management of his corporate law practice.

Mr. Braithwaite succeeds Mr. Pierre Raymond, who completed two terms as Chair and will now continue with a management role in our Montréal office, with a focus on client relations. Mr. Raymond's new mandate will be to further increase the firm's presence in Québec and to pursue new business opportunities.
