Our Canadian offices have assisted numerous Canadian and other sponsors of projects outside Canada. Projects include power stations, power transmission systems, mines, pipelines, telecommunication systems, railways, real estate developments and all types of manufacturing facilities. Our assistance has included the identification and mitigation of transaction risks, the structuring and negotiation of project finance, the negotiation of host government assurances, including the drafting and negotiation of appropriate legislation and tax and customs regimes, and the drafting and negotiation of transaction documentation. We have likewise acted for governments in their capacity as an investment host, joint venturer, offtaker or seller in the context of privatizations. We have provided this type of advice in South America and the Caribbean, Central and Eastern Europe, South and South-East Asia, and Africa.

We have also provided advice to over 15 governments around the World in connection with the restructuring of state-owned enterprises and the modernization of laws and institutional frameworks.
