Secondary Market Liability in Canada (2010 edition currently in preparation)
Secondary Market Liability in Canada is your guide to Ontario's new statutory secondary market civil liability regime.
After coming into force on December 31, 2005, Ontario's amendments to the Securities Act make it easier for shareholders to sue corporations, their directors, officers, advisors and spokepersons.
In addition, the legislation gives the Ontario Securities Commission new authority to pursue cases of market manipulation and other forms of securities fraud, while increasing the maximum sanctions that the Commission can levy.
