Montréal office pedals for kids
On June 16, Stikeman Elliott participated in the 19th edition of the annual "Pedal for Kids event". Every year, a giant bicycle which can accommodate 30 people is pedaled around downtown Montréal for 30 minutes to raise money for The Montreal Children's Hospital Foundation.

Toronto litigation team successful in obtaining injunction
Toronto litigators successfully represented Essar Steel Algoma Inc. in an injunction hearing in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice in Sault Ste. Marie. The injunction secures a non-interruption of iron-ore shipments by the respondent.

Calgary office hosts Spin for the Inn
The Calgary office hosted a full-day marathon of spin classes on June 9 in support of Inn from the Cold. Sixty-eight participants, including a semi-professional cyclist from Team H&R Block and Olympic biathlete Zina Kocher, took part in one to three 45-minute spin classes throughout the day. The event raised over $5,500 for Stikeman Elliott's Kids Inn Play, a program which funds recreation opportunities for the children at Inn from the Cold.

ARMZ-Uranium One deal
The Global Mining Group represents JSC Atomredmetzoloto, the Russian state-owned uranium mining company (ARMZ), in its proposed acquisition of 51% of Uranium One Inc., a Canadian mining company.  Recent Globe and Mail articles (June 8 and 9) highlight the deal.
