Law Practice
Kathleen Ward is a senior partner in Stikeman Elliott's Corporate Group in Toronto. Her practice focuses mainly on securities, banking and mergers and acquisitions. In the securities area, her practice has involved substantial work in pooled investments, including advising mutual funds and investment advisors on a regular basis, and she has worked on many fund and limited partnership offerings as well as merger and acquisition transactions involving dealers, advisers and fund managers. In the banking area, she has acted both for financial institutions and borrowers and has worked on many multi-jurisdictional transactions and on large commercial restructurings.
Ms. Ward has also practised in the firm's New York office and before that for two years in its former Budapest office. While in the Budapest office, she was involved in several privatizations, including that of the Hungarian electricity industry on behalf of the state privatization agency.
Ms. Ward is listed in The Best Lawyers in Canada 2010 for Mutual Funds, The International Who's Who of Private Funds Lawyers 2009 and The International Who's Who of Business Lawyers 2009, published by Law Business Research Ltd. in the U.K, in the area of Private Funds.

Professional Activities
Ms. Ward is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the International Bar Association. She has spoken at conferences and seminars on such subjects related to securities regulation, funds, contracts and environmental matters, and has written articles or contributed to various publications on securities regulatory and fund matters. She has also taught advanced corporate law at the University of Western Ontario as a member of the adjunct faculty. Ms. Ward is a former chair of the board of directors, Orthopaedic and Arthritic Hospital, Toronto, Ontario.
