Law Practice
Gordon Turriff is counsel to the firm, practising in the field of civil litigation. He is a pre-eminent lawyer in Canada in the field of litigation costs and remuneration for professionals including lawyers, trustees, receivers, monitors, and others. Mr. Turriff appears frequently in the Supreme Court of British Columbia and in the Court of Appeal and has appeared in the Supreme Court of Canada.

Professional Activities
Mr. Turriff was president of the Law Society of British Columbia in 2009. He was a Bencher from 2002 and is now a Life Bencher. The Law Society regulates the legal profession in British Columbia as one part of its mandate to protect the public interest in the administration of justice. In the past, Mr. Turriff was a very active member of the Canadian Bar Association, having served on the B.C. Branch executive committee for four years and on the national and provincial councils for over 16 years. He is a founding member and former director of the British Columbia Law Institute (successor to the Law Reform Commission of British Columbia) and was a director of the Continuing Legal Education Society of British Columbia. Mr. Turriff was a full-time visiting assistant professor in 1979-1980 and later, for many years between 1979 and 1991, was an adjunct professor in the Faculty of Law at the University of British Columbia.

Mr. Turriff was appointed Queen's Counsel in 2002.
