Michael Rumball is a partner in Stikeman Elliott's corporate-commercial section in Toronto with a specialization in corporate finance. Over the past fifteen years he has focused his practice on structured financings, including rail car financings, toll road financings and asset and mortgage securitizations. His clients include major auto finance companies and mortgage originators as well as financial institutions, underwriters, and other financial intermediaries. He has been involved in structuring transactions backed by assets in a wide variety of sectors, and in creating innovative financial products that respond to investor, underwriter, and borrower requirements.
Mr. Rumball is recognized by the 2013 Lexpert/American Lawyer Guide to the Leading 500 Lawyers in Canada for Asset Securitization, the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory 2012 as a leading practitioner in the Asset Securitization sector, and is listed in The Best Lawyers in Canada 2013 in the area of Structured Finance Law. He is also recognized internationally in numerous survey-based directories, including Euromoney's A Guide to the World's Leading Structured Finance Lawyers.
