Law Practice
David Lefebvre is a partner in Stikeman Elliott's Calgary office. Mr. Lefebvre practises corporate and securities law, particularly national and international mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, capital markets and project financings, and corporate governance matters. Mr. Lefebvre is the chair of Stikeman Elliott's China practice.
Mr. Lefebvre has been senior lead counsel in several of Canada's larger M&A transactions including Sinopec's acquisition of Addax Petroleum for $10.3 billion which has won numerous awards and citations including: the 2009 New York Atlas Awards Global M&A Deal of the Year ($5+ billion), the Asian Counsel Deal of the Year for 2009 and the Asian Legal Business 2010 Energy & Resources Deal of the Year. His expertise includes corporate reorganizations, restructurings and spin-offs and large commercial matters. He has acted for issuers and underwriters in initial public offerings, private placements and national and international capital markets debt and equity financings.
Mr. Lefebvre is recognized in The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory 2010 as repeatedly recommended for Private Equity.

Professional Activities
Mr. Lefebvre is a member of the American Bar Association, the Canadian Bar Association and the International Bar Association. He is the Alberta contributor to Carswell's SecuritiesSource Newsletter.
Mr. Lefebvre is the director of Lunchbox Theatre and is the past secretary-treasurer of the Kids' Help Foundation, Calgary Chapter. He is a director of a number of public and private corporations.

IBA Fellow (2008), Cambridge University (MA 1989, BA Law 1985, LL.M. 1984), University of Calgary (B.Comm. Finance with distinction, 1980). Diplomas in International Anti-Trust Law (2008), International Capital Markets & Loans (2007), International Joint Ventures (2006), International Business Organizations (2005) and International Mergers and Acquisitions (2004) from the College of Law of England and Wales and the International Bar Association.
