Professional Activities
Mr. Taniguchi is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Calgary Bar Association and the Law Society of Alberta. He also sits as a member of the Alberta Chapter Committee of the Canadian Society of Corporate Secretaries.
Mr. Taniguchi serves as director of Lunchbox Theatre, and previously was a member of the Calgary office's United Way and Sponsorship and Community Involvement Committee.

Background
Prior to joining Stikeman Elliott, Mr. Taniguchi served as senior counsel and assistant corporate secretary of Shaw Communications Inc., Western Canada's largest cable television and Internet company. At Shaw, he focused on corporate finance, strategic transactions, corporate governance and corporate secretarial matters.
Prior thereto, Mr. Taniguchi was a partner at the Calgary office of a national law firm, where he practised securities and corporate-commercial law. He also previously clerked at the Federal Court of Canada, Trial Division in Ottawa, Ontario.
