The Student Experience

Our Vancouver office recruits articling students independently of the other offices, although our office is otherwise fully integrated with the other offices in the firm. We currently have two articling students. Generally, we hire two articling students each year. Our students are not on a rotation system, but have access to and are called upon to work in all areas of practice. We provide informal and formal feedback. We give what we believe to be an unusually high degree of individual responsibility to our articling students in the expectation that initiative, maturity and practice skills will develop more rapidly. Many of the tasks of an articling student are the tasks an associate at another firm would perform.

Salary and Benefits
Our current articling student salary is $48,000 per annum. Our current summer student salary is $3,750 per month. We pay third year law tuition fees (up to $5,000) for our summer students, as well as a $500 book allowance. We pay all costs of the PLTC program for our students, as well as paying full salary during attendance at PLTC.
