Legal Administrative Assistant, Litigation

The Montréal office currently has an opening for a Legal Administrative Assistant, Litigation. The successful candidate will assist lawyers in the execution of all tasks related to that of a legal assistant. The candidate must be fully bilingual, organized, and must show initiative, offer high quality service and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills. This position requires precision and great attention to detail. The Legal Administrative Assistant will report to the Manager – Legal Administrative Assistants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and modify letters, agreements, contracts and any other documents which have been dictated or drafted in Word, Excel or Powerpoint, or as emails in Outlook;
  • Prepare procedures should the candidate work in the litigation group; 
  • Reformat, scan, print, copy and fax various documents; 
  • Provide comparisons with Workshare compare; 
  • Enter data in Interaction;
  • Assist lawyers with some business development projects;
  • Assist in the management of Outlook;
  • Enter time entries in CMS; 
  • Prepare prebills and monthly invoices;
  • Prepare electronic closing binders; 
  • Print various documents from datarooms; and
  • Assist in all legal administrative tasks.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a Legal Administrative Assistant in a law firm or in a legal department.


  • Fluency in both official languages, spoken and written;
  • Good knowledge of PDF Docs and Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook;
  • High level of knowledge of Word;
  • Knowledge of CMS and DM an asset;
  • Ability to accomplish tasks for several people simultaneously with a minimum of supervision;
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure; and
  • Attention to detail, strong professional work ethic and integrity.
