Patrick Duffy and Frank Mathieu honoured as 2017 Rising Stars

Stikeman Elliott is pleased to announce that partners Patrick Duffy and Frank Mathieu have been named among the 2017 Lexpert Rising Stars. This annual award is dedicated to highlighting lawyers under the age of 40 for their success and leadership within the legal community.

Patrick Duffy Patrick Duffy is a partner in the Toronto office with a project development practice that includes environmental permitting and litigation, energy regulation, and aboriginal engagement. Patrick’s broad practice makes him an extremely knowledgeable member of the firm regarding environmental assessments, and various regulatory approvals. He is actively involved in the firm’s recruitment efforts, mentoring the firm’s associates, articling students, and summer students. He has been recognized for his expertise by Chambers Canada as an Up & Coming lawyer in Energy: Power law. Patrick is the editor of the firm’s energy law blog.

Frank Mathieu Frank Mathieu is a partner in the Montréal office’s Tax Group, specializing in Canadian income tax law, including income tax aspects of mergers & acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, and restructurings. His expertise includes advising in foreign private equity funds in relation to their Canadian investments. Frank is president of the board of directors of the Famijeunes Foundation and a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation’s Planning Committee in Montréal. He is a frequent lecturer and speaker, and a member of the Montréal office’s Knowledge Management & Legal Innovation Committee, as well as the Associates Committee.
