  • John M. McIntosh v. Takata Corporation et al. – acting for Toyota in respect of a number of proposed product liability class actions arising from the use of Takata airbags.
  • Harrison v. Afexa Life Sciences Inc. – acting for Valeant Pharmaceuticals in respect of a claim alleging deceptive marketing practices in relation to Cold-Fx.
  • Bardwell v. Martinrea et al. – representing Martinrea International Inc. and certain of its officers and directors in the successful dismissal of a proposed securities class action.
  • Selmani v. Toyota Motor Corporation et al. – acting for Toyota in respect of proposed product liability class actions arising from allegations of unintended acceleration.
  • Covidien – Canadian counsel to Covidien in respect of a number of product liability claims, including class action claims, related to pelvic mesh products.
  • Ontario Provincial Police Association - conducted an internal investigation into allegations that senior members engaged in criminal conduct including fraud, theft and breach of trust.
  • 1291079 Ontario Ltd. v. Sears Canada Inc. – acting for Sears Canada Inc. in defence of a class action by Sears Hometown Store dealers.
  • Charlton v Abbott Laboratories, Ltd. – acting for Apotex in successfully resisting certification of a product liability class action.
  • JJAB Holdings Inc. v. Firstonsite G.P. Inc., et al. – acting for Firstonsite in the successful defence of an application for rectification of a contract.
  • Airia Brands Inc. v. Air Canada – acting as counsel for Air Canada in defence of a class action relating to alleged anti-competitive practices in the air cargo industry.
  • Fairview Donut v. TDL Group and Tim Hortons Inc. – successfully defending TDL Group Corp. and Tim Hortons Inc. in a class action commenced by certain Tim Hortons franchisees alleging breach of contract and breach of good faith. The action was dismissed on summary judgment.
  • Robinson v. Medtronic, Inc. – acting as counsel for Medtronic, Inc. and Medtronic of Canada in defence of a class action relating to cardiac leads.
  • Barclays Bank PLC v. Devonshire Trust (Trustee of) – acting for Barclays Bank in a lengthy trial arising from the termination of credit default swaps with Devonshire Trust, an issuer of Canadian asset-backed commercial paper.
  • GEA Group AG v. Ventra Group Co. – acting for GEA Group AG in the leading decision from the Ontario Court of Appeal on Norwich (pre-action discovery) applications.
  • Neo Material Technologies Inc. (Re) – successfully defending Neo Materials Technologies Inc.’s shareholder rights plan before the Ontario Securities Commission.
  • Peter. v. Medtronic, Inc. – acting as counsel for Medtronic, Inc. and Medtronic of Canada in defence of a class action relating to cardiac defibrillators.
  • ATB Financial v. Metcalfe & Mansfield Alternative Investments II Corp. – represented the foreign bank asset providers in the successful CCAA restructuring of the Canadian asset-backed commercial paper market.
  • Whiting v. Menu Foods et al. – acting as counsel for Menu Foods in respect of various class actions commenced in nine jurisdictions across Canada relating to a recall of pet food.
